YouTube Review Search Results

YouTube Review Search Results

YouTube revises its search results with changes in the visual presentation of SERPs as well as the types of content returned.

The YouTube Search updates include three major changes:

Improved visual presentation Automatic translations Integration of Google search results

Here is more about each of these updates.

Make search results more visual

YouTube makes it easier for users to see what a video is about before clicking on it.

The search results pages are now more visual. Instead of a static thumbnail, users can see a preview of each video as they scroll over it.

Users can now make more informed decisions about the content they see. This is already possible on the desktop, and now the feature comes to the mobile.

In addition, YouTube search results pages display video chapters when available.

These timestamped images describe the various topics covered in videos and let you jump directly to the section that is most relevant to your search.

“Let’s say you are looking for a good sourdough recipe and want to work with your kneading technique. With these new search results, you can see every step of the video, from feeding the appetizer to pulling the bread out of the oven – and jumping straight to the chapter on kneading. ”

This feature is available when YouTube videos are returned in Google search results, so it makes sense for YouTube to add this feature itself.

Automatic translations

YouTube makes more content available to more people with the introduction of automatically translated captions, titles and descriptions.

This allows users to enjoy a wider range of videos no matter what language they are in.

However, YouTube does not return translated content to all queries. This content is displayed only under certain conditions.

When YouTube is unable to return relevant content to a user’s search in their own language, it returns translated content.

“That means anyone in Thailand can learn about quantum physics from a professor at MIT or viewers in Brazil can explore the Grand Canyon from home with captions in their local language.”

YouTube will first start supplementing search results with English videos, with plans to expand to more languages in the future.

Eventually, YouTube hopes all of its content will be available via automatic translations.

Google search results on YouTube

Google’s search results will be integrated into YouTube. But only on a limited basis, for now.

YouTube is experimenting with returning search results from Google when not enough video content is available to satisfy a query.

“We also recognize that not all searches may have enough or relevant high quality video content to fully address what you are looking for. For better surface information you need, we’ve recently begun experimenting with a new feature that complements search results with site links and other Google Search formats. ”

This feature is currently available on mobile devices in India and Indonesia. YouTube will consider further expansion based on user feedback.

The development of Google’s search results on YouTube is worth noting, as it would be a boon for publishers if their content could be found on both sites.
