Google Page Experience update completely rolled out

Google has announced that the page experience update is complete. The message was largely met with a muted response. Nevertheless, this is a major update and it will pay to be aware of it.

Google’s page experience ranking factors currently consist of four categories.

Core Web Vitals has received several updates in 2021 that have had the effect of making metrics fairer and more accurate.

In general, these updates to the individual metrics that include Core Web Vitals have led to improved site scores for most sites.

The apparent ban on intrusive interstitials was recently clarified by John Mueller. He said that intermediate ads that block users from the content when they first arrive at a site are what Google considers offensive and a bad user experience.

The Google Page Experience update has been completed

Google’s Search Central Twitter account announced that the update has been rolled out.

Updating page experience is important

Although relevance is the overall most important result for any search ranking, the page’s experience factors are still considered important ranking factors that deserve consideration and attention.
The ranking factors for page experience are real ranking factors, not the little shock that some think it is.

The official Google Search Central page for page experience ranking factors states:

“… in cases where there are many pages that may be similar in relevance, page experience can be much more important to visibility in Search.”

Core Web Vitals is more than a tie-breaker

At one point, the Core Web Vitals metric was generally assumed to be small and relatively insignificant. Perhaps the lack of impact from previous side experience factors like HTTPS and mobile friendliness led to this assessment.

But that’s not really the case with the whole Page Experience ranking factor taken as a whole, especially with Core Web Vitals.

According to Google, they are more than just tie-breakers.

In early August, Google’s John Mueller confirmed that Core Web Vitals is more than a draw, that it is a significant ranking factor in itself.

In a discussion on Reddit in which Core Web Vitals was dismissed as relatively insignificant, John Mueller joined in informing the community that the Core Web Vitals ranking factor was important and worth paying attention to.

“It’s a ranking factor, and it’s more than a tie-breaker, but it does not replace relevance either.

Depending on the sites you work on, you may notice it more, or you may notice it less.

As SEO, part of your role is to take all the possible optimizations and find out which ones are worth spending time on. ”

Updating page experience is relatively important

Many ranking factors are hidden in mystery.

Although we know that links are an important ranking factor, we do not know which links help with rankings and which do nothing.

The Page Experience ranking signals are different in that Google is completely transparent and open about these ranking factors and provides useful tips for improving scores.

Given that page experience ranking factors are the best documented ranking signals that have a ranking effect, it makes sense to be careful about allocating some resources to improve page experience signals to make your absolute best effort to win the top spot in Search Results.
